is one of the villages by the bay of ▶ Rethymnon on the island of ▶ Crete, located approx. midway between the city and the larger hotel resorts in the eastern part of the bay.
The place has many smaller hotels and private apartment facilities, and the shops and restaurants of Platanias are prepared for the demands of individual tourism.
